Focus on overview of innovative materials for energy

چکیده
Innovative materials for energy play an important role in major fields of science and technology, including life and environmental sciences and many interdisciplinary fields. This focus issue contains several reviews and primary research articles devoted to materials for energy conversion (photovoltaic, lighting, solid oxide fuel cells, etc.) and energy harvesting applications. This focus issue was organized within a collaboration between Japan and France. Half of its articles originate from joint research structures, such as the International Joint Research Unit (UMI 3757 ELytMax, UMI 3629 LINK) and the Associated International Laboratory (LIA NextPV). This issue also features works carried out in close partnership between French and Japanese research teams in areas related to materials for energy. It clearly demonstrates the dynamic exchange in this field between these two countries, from basic to applied science. This Foreword includes the encouraging words of Laurent Pic, the Ambassador of France to Japan. We would like to thank him and the Embassy of France in Japan for their support. We are also grateful to all the involved authors and reviewers, as without their help this focus issue would not have been published on time. Background: English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses should empower students to satisfy their language needs. However, at many Iranian universities, these courses are mostly taught based on the Grammar Translation Method focusing on teaching grammatical rules and reading comprehension. The present study aims at proposing an innovative approach for teaching English to Medical students that ca...
متن کاملThe Role of Innovative Entrepreneurship in Economic Development: A Study of G20 Countries
Innovation and entrepreneurship are considered key factors of growth and survival of modern economies. According to Schumpeter (1934), “carrying out innovations is the only function which is fundamental in history". The review of recent studies reveals that high levels of newly growing up innovative firms are strongly related to economic growth (Stam, 2008).The vinculum of innovation, entrepren...
متن کاملOn the Analysis of FGM Beams: FEM with Innovative Element
This paper aims at presenting a new efficient element for free vibration and instability analysis of Axially Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) non-prismatic beams using Finite Element Method (FEM). Using concept of Basic Displacement Functions (BDFs), two- node element extends to three-node element for obtaining much more exact results using FEM. First, BDFs are introduced and computed usin...
متن کاملAn Overview on Microgrid Concept with Special Focus on Islanding Protection Issues
Subscriber service is not feasible in the construction of large-scale traditional networks with the aim of providing more services. The high distance between production and consumption requires the definition of a transmission network as a challenging intermediary. The cost of transmission network and the risk associated with it cannot be ignored at all. The idea of a microgrid, which began wit...
